TVA monitoring OPM security breach

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management on Thursday, June 4, announced that it recently became aware of a cybersecurity incident affecting its systems and data. The agency said the breach may have compromised the information of current and former federal employees.

TVA leaders are working closely with senior OPM officials to identify any current or previous TVA employees whose data may have been exposed as part of the OPM data breach. TVA will continue to update employees as soon as additional information is available.

OPM is partnering with U.S. Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to assess the extent and impact of the breach. OPM said beginning June 8, it will directly notify up to 4 million federal employees who may have been impacted. OPM will issue the notifications via the email address opmcio@csid.com.

TVA places the utmost importance on protecting the security of sensitive corporate and personal information of its employees. TVA is enacting proactive measures to protect, detect, and respond to any threat to the TVA network or information.
